A break from the wind
Its no secret that wind is a cyclists worst enemy. Not only is a headwind power zapping and demeaning but its breath will have you shivering if you arent properly shielded. The Hincapie Sportswear Power Tour Jacket combines three fabrics to create a lightweight barrier against chill. Hincapie used its Advanced LTX Wind Repel fabric for the membrane of the Power Tour jacket. This four-way stretch material is designed not only to block wind but to also mold and move with the body while youre in riding position. The inside was given a hydrophyllic treatment which means that its able to hold water in this case it rapidly pulls moisture away from you skin in order to keep you dry from the inside-out. After all in the wind dry skin is warm skin. The outside of the membrane received a hydrophobic treatment so that it resists light rain. The body of the jacket was constructed from Hincapies RegulatorTek fabric. This knit fabric uses Advansa Thermocool which features varying cross-sections of yarn. This material assists with evaporating sweat as well as holding body heat next to the skin. Strategically placed panels of TempoMesh have also been included in order to assist with thermo-regulation. This mesh is flexible yet its thick enough to provide coverage from elements. Combined these three fabrics create a lightweight windproof and water-resistant layer thats perfect for cool fall days. The Power Tour jacket features set-in sleeves and a slightly elongated back for coverage while riding. The collar is high enough to keep your neck dry without rubbing on your helmet while the lightly knit cuffs stay in place over or under gloves. The full-length zipper is finished with a zipper garage to keep the wind out and three generous back pockets keep all your riding essentials dry. For low-light riding conditions reflective accents have been added to make you more visible to traffic.
