Its designed for logging miles on the bike but unlike most cycling-specific rain jackets it layers well with your everyday attire without making you look like the nerd walking around the neighborhood in team kit. Showers Pass constructed the Crossover jacket from Artex 2.5-layer hardshell fabric. This material is both waterproof and breathable so itll block out heavy precipitation without turning into a sweat box once you get moving. The zippered underarm vents aid in airflow which keeps you from overheating. It also has an adjustable hood thats intended to be worn underneath a helmet. Plus the hand warmer pockets are handy when it comes time to reheat the digits after an extended effort. The Crossover jacket is as youd expect cut for logging long hours on the bike. This means that theres a drop-tail for deflecting wheel-spray and keeping your backside covered. Meanwhile the core has a close conforming fit in order to keep flapping to a minimum even when youre in the drops. The sleeves are generously long in order to accommodate a stretched out position. Especially useful is the 360-degree 3M Scotchlite reflective paneling which improves your visibility to motorists in critical low-light conditions.
