With a breathable microporous waterproof coating this jackets Pertex Shield shell sheds snow spray and rainfall to protect the light-and-lofty 750-fill down insulation. Rab coated the down with Nikwax to help the insulation retain its loft even if it somehow gets wet. The Snowpack Down Jacket also features a helmet-compatible hood with a wired peak that stays out of sight during belays. There are multiple adjustments at the hood hem and cuffs to seal out bad weather. The A-line pockets are accessible even with a backpack or harness on and the internal security pocket protects valuables from the elements.
