Thanks to its three-layer Gore-Tex laminate and fully taped seams this jacket effectively seals out rain sleet and snow while also providing adequate breathability to prevent underlying layers from becoming wet with sweat when youre on the move. The Svalbard is even made with Gores C-Knit backer technology to more effectively transport accumulated heat and moisture outside of the jacket. In terms of fit the Svalbard sits slightly looser through the body and arms than most technical shells providing additional room for extra layers and giving it a more relaxed look and feel. The cuffs and hem can be adjusted to lock in heat while the two large underarm zips can be opened up for quick ventilation if things start to get too toasty.
