Featherweight Danny “Little Red” Lopez first hit the scene at the Olympic Auditorium and soon became very popular all across Southern California His knockout power and aggressive attacking style also made him a huge television fan favorite Lopez holds the distinction of having one of boxing’s longest knockout streaks, winning his first 21 fights by KO He won the WBC Featherweight Title in 1976 and held it until 1980, when he lost the first of two epic battles against the legendary Salvador Sanchez Lopez left the ring with an impressive record of 42 6 0 (39 KOs) against some of the best competition to ever enter a boxing ring; including Rueben Olivares, Sean O’Grady and Bobby Chacon, among others
